A nice place for nature lovers, animals and wild plants. Here you have the opportunity to observe a great variety of exotic birds and endangered species.
In this place "El Terrero" is a forest known as "cloud forest" because it's located in the upper parts, as if you were actually at the clouds, the weather is very cold and wet. It's home for butterflies, frogs, lizards, pumas, ocelots, squirrels, rabbits, armadillos, and Gila dragon, endangered reptile. The most attractive residents of the biosphere are birds, including wild turkeys, eagles, hawks, parrots, sparrows, owls, and woodpeckers. All species are protected and hunting it's not allowed. The soil of this region is formed by chalky soils, which results in the formation of numerous caves and holes in the ground. For visitors interested in spelunking, you should get community guides who can lead them to these places, it's said that in the Cerro Grande are over 100 holes.
