Address: Audiencia Av. W/N Lots 8 and 9, Santiago Peninsula, 28867 Manzanillo, Colima
Following the footsteps of the historical past, many years ago, pirates and conquerors looked at the golden beaches in Manzanillo, from its peninsulas upholstered in jungles to their great galleons offshore for the first time in this place.
In the sixteenth century, Manzanillo was a virgin tropical paradise, consisting of coves and rocky shores, coconuts and palm groves. The Nahuatl prospered along this fertile coast and were the first to receive the ship of Captain Gonzalo de Sandoval, who came on behalf of Hernán Cortés. The historic meeting between the Spanish people and the local tribal chief took place in 1522 in the bay that would eventually be named as La Audiencia Beach, in honor of that event.
La Audiencia Beach is located on the Santiago Peninsula, between the bays of Manzanillo and Santiago.
Today is ideal for kayaking, jet-skiing and snorkeling. The slope and waves are always low; from the lighthouse you can see beautiful panoramic views of Manzanillo.
