Our primary responsibility is the organization, classification, preservation, conservation and dissemination of historical documentary heritage that is kept in the Historical Archives of the State of Colima.
This means, developing a general classification to locate the funds, sections and series of collections, for fast and efficient location. The development of consultation tools, such as inventories, catalogs and guide funds are used to improve consultation service.
Sensitizing the Colimense community about the value of preserving its historical documentary heritage as a fundamental part of their identity and memory, is necessary to disseminate and promote care of the conservation of these reservoirs; as well as to encourage the donation of these material documentaries.
Therefore, its mission is to rescue, preserve and disseminate the history of the state of Colima.
